TOI TOI: Annual Easter Concert

The Manoel’s TOI TOI Learning & Participation Programme, in collaboration with the Malta School of Music Contemporary Department, is holding another Easter Concert on Sunday, featuring talented young artists from across Malta and Gozo.

The audience will be taken on a journey across the history of pop music: with hits from the 1950s to the present day. The playlist includes timeless favourites and medleys merging popular music genres, from retro ‘rock ‘n’ roll’ all the way to Harry Styles.

Club Origami

An immersive and interactive dance show combining fashion and live music with the art of origami is being brought to young local audiences by the ŻiguŻajg team.

The show, aimed at children from two to four years old, invites families to create, imagine and explore whole new ways of thinking, playing and moving.

According to The Guardian, Club Origami “is ripping fun for under-fives, who will be mesmerised by the paper birds and monsters”.

The 45-minute show is taking place at Studio A at Spazju Kreattiv on April 8 at 11am and 5pm and on Easter Sunday at 11am (sensory-friendly show) and 1pm.

Mindfulness course for kids

Mindfulness with Elaine, in collaboration with Esplora Interactive Science Centre, is offering a mindfulness session aimed at children aged six to 10. The first two-hour session is taking place on Saturday, April 8, at 10am.

Children will be able to learn different mindfulness and well-being techniques while, at the same time, making use of the resources that the venue has to offer.

Easter EggCitement 2023

On Saturday, April 8, BirdLife is hosting an Easter egg hunt at Foresta 2000, alongside numerous nature-based activities, that include crafts and birdwatching.

The activities will be held from 10am to 2pm and there will be four Easter egg hunt time slots, with each half-hour session split into three different age groups.

Session 1 (10-10.30am): 3-5 years (15 slots), 6-8 years (15 slots), 9-12 years (10 slots)
Session 2 (11-11.30am): 3-5 years (15 slots), 6-8 years (15 slots), 9-12 years (10 slots)
Session 3 (noon-12.30pm): 3-5 years (15 slots), 6-8 years (15 slots), 9-12 years (10 slots)
Session 4 (1-1.30pm): 3-5 years (15 slots), 6-8 years (15 slots), 9-12 years (10 slots)

To secure your child’s place, purchase a ticket from here. Parents go free. Remember to take your own basket for the egg collection.

After your time slot, you are free to enjoy Għadira Nature Reserve and the activities available there.

Easter holidays at the Eden Cinema

The Eden Cinemas in St Julian’s is opening its doors early in the coming days to screen family movies from 10am onwards.

These opening hours apply to today, April 7 and tomorrow, April 8, and during the school holidays from Monday, April 10, to Sunday, April 16.

Families can enjoy the latest blockbusters such as Mummies, The Super Mario Bros Movie and Dungeons and Dragons: Honour Among Thieves. On April 10 and 11, the cinema foyer is also hosting a programme of events for all ages.

Easter art workshop for kids

Artist Vania Goshe is guiding a fun art session for children for kids aged 7 to 12 at Ivy House in Pembroke on Saturday, April 8, from 10am to noon.

Participants will draw and paint several springtime flora and fauna, that includes chicken, eggs and flowers.

All materials are included in the ticket price, but one needs to bring an old apron or T-shirt.

Easter egg hunt at the Valletta Waterfront

The Valletta Waterfront is hosting an Easter egg hunt on Sunday from 1 to 3pm, where various hidden treasures will be scattered along the promenade for children to find.

A cast of lively children’s characters and the Easter Bunny will join in the festivities.

The Malta National Aquarium in Qawra is hosting a number of Easter-themed activities until April 16.

Children can get creative at a crafts station, meet and greet with the famous Mickey and Minnie while playing games. There will be magic shows, storytellers and an Easter egg hunt.

Easter celebrations at Popeye’s Fun Farm

A brand new fun farm has opened at Popeye Village, where Popeye and his gang have prepared a fun-filled Easter celebration.

Among other attractions are:

• A number of Easter animation shows, including a puppet show and a Popeye and Friends show;
• Dancing during the Bunny Hop Kids Dance;
• Easter Parade-Dance, where children can meet the huggable bunny Ricky and his friends;
• A special sweet Easter treat for all paying children;
