If you’re looking for something fun and educational to do with your children this weekend, then we recommend checking out Palazzo Falson’s second Spring Workshop. Taking place this Sunday, May 7, the one hour-long event will give children the opportunity to garden, dance, learn, and much more.

Following on from the success of the first Spring Workshop, which was held in April, the second instalment in the series will include several activities that bring together themed music, dance, and sensory activities. There will also be time for a spot of gardening, and an educational session that teaches them about the lifecycle of a bee complete with a tasting session of three types of Maltese honey.

Open to children aged between three and five years old – who must obviously be accompanied by an adult – the event is on between 11am and 12pm, and is set within the perimeter of Palazzo Falson Historic House Museum. This gem, located on Villegaignon Street in Mdina, is believed to be the second oldest building in the Silent City and is one of Malta’s most important historic locations, having Grade I-listed status since 1992.

This makes the Spring Workshop a perfect way to start or end a browse through this historic home, parts of which date to the 13 th century. Among the many beautiful things on show are a kitchen that’s equipped with cooking paraphernalia from across the centuries, a carpet gallery, and a rare French Revolutionary Time clock on which each day is divided into 10 hours of 100 minutes each.

Pre-booking to the event is essential, and the recommended donation is of €15 per child, or €12 per child for Friends of Palazzo Falson. To book, send an e-mail on booking@palazzofalson.com or call on 2145 4512.
