True crime: these two podcasts are worth listening to

We are constantly on the look-out for new podcasts that will keep us company, especially at this dark time of the year. But, with so many to pick from, it’s often a hit-or-miss scenario. That’s why, whenever we find any that we feel are worthwhile, we share them with you. This time, we have two!

Scotland Yard Confidential: Scotland Yard is the headquarters of London’s Metropolitan Police, one of the world’s oldest forces established in 1829. As such, it’s no surprise that the force has dealt with some pretty mind-blowing cases, including the Millennium Dome Heist, during which thieves tried to steal the world’s largest collection of flawless diamonds; and the murder of the King of Greece’s maid in Belgravia. The show takes on a narrative approach, explaining the meticulous work of the detectives from across the years.

Conspiracy Theories: From the conspiracies surrounding the death of Pope John Paul I to the stories told about the Freemasons, and from the mummy’s curse that killed everyone involved in the opening of Tutankhamun’s tomb to the story of the man in the iron mask, no topic is too sensitive to be discussed on this podcast. What we like about it is that it doesn’t present conspiracies as fact, but rather presents the facts and how the conspiracies came to be.
