The tour will start with a visit of Żabbar’s magnificent Baroque Sanctuary (parish church) and its Sanctuary Museum, both wheelchair-accessible. The museum houses a fascinating collection that dates to Roman times, and includes many treasures related to the Knights and later still, such as sedan chairs and the closed cart used to transport victims of the 1813 plague, besides priceless paintings and silverware.
Din l-Art Our guides who know the town’s history and tales like the back of their hands, will then take us on a short stroll through Żabbar’s old centre. As an extra treat, you can stay on for tea and eats being prepared by the Santa Marta Volunteers at the Sanctuary premises opposite the church.
The tour takes place on February 3 at 2.15pm. Tickets are available from the Flimkien Għal Ambjent Aħjar website.
