If there’s one thing we’re certain of, it’s that the first half of 2024 will bring about some great tunes and bops that will keep us humming and singing for months to come. Below, we’ve shortlisted the five albums we’re most looking forward to – and some names may surprise you!
Liam Gallagher John Squire by Liam Gallagher & John Squire: Out on March 1, this album is a collaboration between the Oasis singer-songwriter and the Stone Roses guitarist. You can already listen to the first two singles, ‘Just Another Rainbow’ and ‘Mars to Liverpool’.
Eternal Sunshine by Ariana Grande: Grande’s seventh studio album and her first in over three years is out on March 8. It’s being described as an ‘elevated version’ of the singer’s previous work, combining elements from Sweetner and Thank U, Next. The first single off the album, ‘Yes, And?’ has already gone to #1 in the US.
Act II by Beyoncé: The second part of the three-act project, which began with Act I: Renaissance in 2022, will be out on March 29. Announced at the Super Bowl LVIII, we know that this album will be Beyoncé’s first fully-Country offering, with the two lead singles, ‘16 Carriages’ and ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ already making it up the Country charts in the States.
The Tortured Poets Department by Taylor Swift: Out on April 19, Swift’s 11th studio album was announced during the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, where she made history by becoming the only singer in history to win the Album of the Year award four times. So far, the singer-songwriter has shared the album cover, the tracklist, and some lyrics from the songs. Collaborators on the album include Post Malone and Florence and the Machine.
Nonetheless by Pet Shop Boys: The English synth-pop duo are making a comeback with this new album, which comes out on April 26, almost four years since Hotspot. The tracklist will include dance tracks and ballads, with some songs said to be quite complicated, though minimal in arrangement. The first single off the album, ‘Loneliness’, is already out.
