Italian book club returns

Chiara Valerio featured author for April and May.

The Italian Institute for Culture returns with its book club sessions, this time featuring author Chiara Valerio’s Chi Dice e Chi Tace.

Valerio delves into the intricate dynamics of communication and silence within relationships. Set against the backdrop of contemporary Italy, the novel intricately weaves the lives of its characters, each grappling with their truths and the unsaid words that shape their connections.

The narrative centers around Anna and Marco, two old friends who reunite unexpectedly and discover that their past silences and unspoken feelings have laid a complex foundation for their present. As they navigate their renewed acquaintance, the story branches out to explore other characters linked to them, each characterized by what they choose to reveal or conceal.

Sessions take place at the Italian Institute for Culture in Valletta on April 25, May 23 and June 13, 20 and 27.
