The duo, who made their names thanks to their early noughties reality series The Simple Life, have been fuelling rumours for weeks.

Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are reuniting for another reality show. Not much is yet known about what the show will be about, though a recent poll by Hilton herself asked her 26.4M Instagram followers whether The Simple Life should be brought back!

But why is this news?

Well, it’s impossible to mention the early noughties without speaking about the myriad reality series that were on air. There was the now-very problematic America’s Next Top Model, which made one contestant take a shoot in a grave on the same day she found out her friend was killed in a car accident. There was The Girls Next Door, where we saw Playboy founder Hugh Hefner spending time with his three girlfriends. And there was The Biggest Loser, which let us follow people’s weightloss journey.

Then there was also The Simple Life, which introduced many of us to heiresses and socialites Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. The series lasted five season, running from December 2, 2003 to August 5, 2007.

It was a wild show during which Paris and Nicole, among other things, did menial jobs, like working at a diner and inserting their whole arms up a cow to check for pregnancy (yes, really), or random, everyday things, like catching a coach, which they had apparently never done.

The Simple Life was a sassy and hilarious look at how nepobabies experienced the everyday person’s world, and we all wanted to be them. Of course, everything was staged, but we, and audiences around the world, lapped it up, catapulting both Paris and Nicole to stardom.
This is why the news that the duo will be reuniting for another reality show is such big news, and why we have all our fingers and toes crossed that it will be another, more kosher, season of The Simple Life!
