World Environment Day at Spazju Kreattiv

A tale of how one person can make a difference.

To mark World Environment Day, Spazju Kreattiv cinema will be screening Blueback, a heart-warming tale of family, friendship and the importance of protecting our environment.

After returning to her remote coastal community in Western Australia to care for her ill mother, marine biologist Abby Jackson reflects on her childhood and the powerful influence her activist mother, Dora, had on her worldview.

Through flashbacks, we meet teenage Abby, who takes an interest in protecting the bay in which they live, driven by a bond she has formed with the wild blue groper who also resides there. Abby demonstrates the power one person can have in protecting our natural environment.

The film screens on June 5 at 7.30pm in collaboration with the Australian High Commission. Tickets are available online.
