France comes to Żebbuġ

France came to Żebbuġ for the second edition of the Franco-Maltese village festival, La France en Ville – Franza Fostna, earlier this month.

Misraħ l-Isptar was set up with food and drinks stalls, offering both French and Maltese cuisine – from quiches to charcuterie and pastries, French toast and biscuits and a variety of wines, as well as the local pastizzi to suit all tastes.

Organised by the Embassy of France in Malta, together with the Żebbuġ local council and the Banda San Filep, it was a festival for the whole family, with a focus on the children, who were entertained by traditional games.

Activities included animation by Paul-Loup Bournez, an intern at the Alliance Française, and Patricia Micallef, a French teacher at Junior College.

A concert by the Banda San Filep and French DJ AECE filled the festivity with music, bringing the dancefloor to life.

Żebbuġ’s pretty square was decorated with traditional banners and French and Maltese flags, bringing the two countries together.
