Netflix is reportedly working on a sequel series for One Tree Hill, the 2000s teen drama that ran from 2003 and 2012. Although not much else is known for the time being, it is being reported that Sofia Bush, Hilarie Burton, and Danneel Ackles, who played the roles of Brookie Davis, Peyton Sawyer, and Rachel Gatina, respectively, have been signed on as the producers.
One Tree Hill was one of the biggest shows on The WB before the channel merged with UPN to create The CW. The series, which ran for nine seasons, has remained a cult classic, with regular reunions and tours taking place all across the United States. It’s also been the cause of some controversy, especially as in 2017, 18 female cast and crew members accused its creator, Mark Schwahn, of sexual misconduct on set.
Reports about the reboot have been clear that Schwahn would not be involved, but that many of the actors who played main characters throughout the original run were in talks of potentially returning. These include Chad Michael Murray and James Lafferty, who played half-brothers Lucas and Nathan Scott, and Bethany Joy Lenz, who played the part of Haley Scott.
