New Black Mirror incoming

This is not a drill! New season premiere scheduled for next year.

Black Mirror is undoubtedly one of the most mind-boggling series of the last few years, bringing viewers face-to-face with dystopian technology. Its dark sci-fi storylines have made it a huge success with fans, who will be delighted to know that season seven has just been announced.

Netflix teased the six-episode return to the futuristic horror with a glitchy video on X (formerly known as Twitter), which mainly included the names of the all-star cast, as well as its directors, and veteran Black Mirror writers. In the actors’ category, big names include former Doctor Who actor Peter Capaldi, Crazy Rich Asians star Awkwafina, and The Crown’s Emma Corrin.

Moreover, for the first time in Black Mirror history, one of the new episodes will be a sequel to an earlier episode by the name of “USS Callister”, which followed a computer programmer who stole his co-workers’ DNA in order to possess them.

Speaking about the new season, the show’s creator, Charlie Brooker, also explained that two of the six new episodes will be feature-length, and that he’s even let some of the characters live!
Black Mirror’s first two seasons aired on Britain’s Channel 4 in 2011 and 2013, after which it was bought by Netflix. Since then, the series has become a pop culture phenomenon, receiving nearly-universal critical acclaim.
