Teatru Manoel welcomes back Nico Darmanin to the theatre for An Evening of Operatic Arias on October 25 and 26.
Opera and classical music lovers will be delighted to hear that the highly acclaimed Maltese tenor Nico Darmanin will appear alongside soprano Elena Brazhnyk and pianist Adrian Kelly. The trio will perform an exciting selection of operatic arias in a programme that includes works by renowned composers Gioachino Rossini and Gaetano Donizetti amongst others
Since making his Royal Opera House debut in 2013 in Les Vepres Siciliennes under Pappano, Nico Darmanin has established himself as a leading exponent of bel canto repertoire internationally. His career has seen him perform across the globe, from Scotland to Estonia to the Netherlands, and he has also performed in recitals in the United States and Canada. Future plans include engagements with Glyndebourne, his debut at the Teatro Regio in Turin, and a performance and recording of Bertin’s Fausto with the Theatre Champs Elysee. He is thrilled to be returning to Teatru Manoel in Valletta this October.
Elena Brazhnyk, is a rising star in the world of opera. In 2016, she debuted in the Estonian National Opera with the role of Gilda in Verdi’s “Rigoletto” and has been a soloist of the Estonian National Opera since July 2022. Maestro Adrian Kelly, who will be accompanying the singers on the piano, is the Artistic Director of the Buxton International Festival and Principal Guest Conductor at the Salzburger Landestheater, where he was previously Music Director. . ‘An Evening of Operatic Arias’ promises to be a thrilling evening for both opera lovers and those looking for an introduction to the world of opera..
