3 Facebook pages every local antiques lover should follow

If you love thrifting for antiques, these three Facebook pages will let you do just so from the comfort of your own home!

Antiques have long been experiencing a revival. In fact, Malta is seeing an influx of thrift, second-hand, and antiques shops that sell everything from vintage clothes to quirky knick-knacks… And we have to admit that we totally get this obsession, especially as the thrill of not knowing what will come our way gives us butterflies.

Among the many places where you can grab an antique is Facebook, where plenty of users share their wares and take orders. Among these are these three pages, which regularly post many amazing items—including ones we didn’t know we wanted or needed!

Gigi’s Antiques & Collectables: From old soda bottles to out-of-print books, and from vintage records to sports memorabilia, this page is chock-a-block with weird and wonderful finds. With new listings going up every day and an incredible backlog of items, you’re sure to find something that you love. Of course, there is also a shop behind the page, which is on Triq Domenico Cachia in Birkirkara.

Antiques, Collectibles, Tools & Melitensia – Personal Items For Sale: As the pinned post on this group states: this is a page where one family of collectors is hoping to find a new home for many of their items. Although relatively new—it’s only been active for a few months—there are already plenty of out-of-print books, vintage records, sports memorabilia, and lovely ceramics on offer.

L-Imbarazz Antiques: Contrary to its name, this group, which was established in 2020, is full of amazing finds, including full-sized slot machines, Victorian flushings, antique cabinetry, and beautifully-patinated copper. New listings also go up every day, so if you follow it, you’re bound to find something that tickles your fancy.
