3 Christmas podcasts to follow

While for some it may be too early to start thinking about Christmas, for others the holiday is well and truly underway. We tend to fall in the latter category, and the podcasts we listen to have been one of the first things to shift into Christmas-mode. Here are three we’re absolutely loving and which we think you’ll love too!

The Calm Christmas Podcast: Started in 2020 by British Japanologist Beth Kempton, The Calm Christmas Podcast delivers exactly what it says on the tin: a soothing listening experience in which the podcaster imparts stress-free holiday tips and reads beautiful, wintery excerpts from her favourite poets and writers. All three of its seasons—the show ended in 2023—offer a wonderful opportunity to just sit down, relax, and enjoy the beauty of the midwinter holiday.

Christmas Past: A great one for the history buffs, Christmas Past delves deep into the history of many of the world’s Christmas traditions: from the backstory to Boxing Day to the origins of the Stollen cake. It’s a wonderful podcast to listen to, which might even help you discover a new tradition to share with your family!
Tinsel Tunes – The Christmas Music Podcast: Discover the story behind some of the world’s most beloved Christmas music, while discovering some new ones to add to your playlist. In Tinsel Tunes – The Christmas Podcast, hosts Duane and Scott delve deep into the world of Christmas music ranging from the classic ‘O come, All Ye Faithful’ to summer Christmas tunes!

Are there any other festive-themed podcasts you think should be on the list? If so, let us know about them in the comments section!
