3 fashion trends to try out in 2025

Are you ready for a new year of fashion? These are three of the year’s most talked-about new trends!

A new year doesn’t just mean new resolutions and new ways of thinking, it’s also a time for new fashion. And while the clothes we wear are not the be-all and end-all of life, they can help boost our moods and our confidence.

Without any further ado, here are three trends that are already gaining ground in 2025 and which are not that difficult to incorporate into your current style.

Asymmetry: From one-shoulder tops to asymmetrical dresses, asymmetry has been one of the reigning trends on many red-carpets for 2025, including at Bottega Veneta. Some designers and stars have gone the whole hog—even going as far as debuting one-legged trousers and half-skirts that drape on the floor while leaving one leg completely exposed. It’s quirky but it’s also exceptionally eye-catching.

Animal Print: Time has proven that animal prints are less a trend and more a staple, but 2025 will be another year when zebra, snake, leopard, and tiger print will once again come to the fore of fashion. While these can take over the whole outfit, they can also be combined with other, more neutral colours, like black, beige, or brown.

Suede: As we inch closer to spring and summer 2025, suede will continue to grow in popularity. Of course, in a country like Malta, where summer is just too stifling, being ahead of the trend makes sense. If you’d like to take up this trend, try searching for suede trousers, jackets, dresses, or even scarves, as we’ve seen on the catwalks for Ralph Lauren and Marni, among others.
