The American art supplies company Crayola has become world-famous for its crayons; one might even go as far as saying that their products have become a staple of childhood. But, as often happens with beloved products, they sometimes get discontinued…
Crayola, however, seems to have heard the cries of thousands of fans from all over the world and, on Wednesday, February 5, it announced that, for a very limited time, it would bring back eight discontinued colours that still have scores of fans.
The colours being resurrected are Orange Red, Raw Umber, Violet Blue, and Lemon Yellow, which were discontinued 35 years ago (which was 1990, and not the 1970s); Magic Mint, Mulberry, and Blizzard Blue, last seen in 2003; and the iconic Dandelion, which was discontinued in 2017 and is so famous it has its own dedicated Wikipedia page.
Boxed together in limited edition packs, the colours will be released as crayons, coloured pencils, and markers.
So far there is no word as to whether these colours will make their way outside of the US, at least through official channels. Undoubtedly, though, they will certainly make their way to auction sites like eBay, where they will surely fetch a pretty penny.
