ARTZ ID, in collaboration with Malta Enterprise, is today launching a multidisciplinary collective exhibition examining humanity’s evolving relationship with nature, technology and the environment.
Through speculative and forward-thinking artistic practices, Echoes of the Future aims to bridge the gap between ecological awareness and technological innovation, positioning art as a catalyst for reimagining our collective future.
The eight selected artists were invited to present new or existing works that project forward-looking visions, whether utopian or dystopian, while reflecting on humanity’s evolving political, ecological and societal landscapes.
But with its diverse range of media, including digital art, sculpture, painting and documented performative installation, the exhibition seeks to not only speculate on what lies ahead but also provide a reflective lens on where we have come from. In doing so, Echoes of the Future positions art as a means of understanding and navigating the complexities of our changing world.
The participating artists are Hui Sun, Jade Zammit, Movingeedit, Alex Weenink, Aaron Bezzina, Matthew Schembri, Sarah Maria Scicluna and Sebastian Tanti Burlò. They were selected through an open call juried by an independent panel of local and international experts.
The exhibition forms part of the L-Arti Bħala Intrapriża programme, an initiative designed to support local and international creatives in enhancing their artistic and entrepreneurial skills while fostering innovation in the arts.
It is made possible through a collaboration between ARTZ ID, a leading platform for the visual arts community, and the Kordin Business Incubation Centre (KBIC), renowned for its role in supporting innovators and fostering cross-disciplinary exchange.
Echoes of the Future will launch today, April 9, at 6pm at Kordin Business Incubation Centre, Paola, and will remain open to the public until May 10.
