After over 15 years of passionate musical exploration, independent artist Johann Caruana officially stepped into the spotlight with the release of his debut single, ‘No Hope Left’ earlier this year. Blending a unique mix of different rock styles (such as blues rock, shoegaze and alternative rock), electronic (such as dance pop, disco polo and trance), and worship genres, Johann’s music reflects both his technical skill and emotional depth as a multi-instrumentalist and composer.

At 32 years old, Caruana is no stranger to the world of music. A self-taught drummer and bass guitarist, he has spent more than a decade crafting diverse compositions that span a wide range of styles. Now, with a growing library of songs and a refined artistic vision, Johann is ready to share his work with the world.

A major highlight in this adventure, he adds, was the streaming of his blues rock song ‘Midnight Blues’ which made its way to Tennessee, USA in June and was played on WANT FM98.9.

“After years of experimenting and developing my sound, I felt it was finally time to take things to the next level and start releasing music professionally,” said Caruana. “‘No Hope Left’ was just the beginning of what I hope will be a long and meaningful musical journey.”

Following the release of this song, and the positive reception it received, Johann was encouraged to further delve into music production, leading up to his recent song ‘Under the Pulse’, a song with a summer vibe. In June, Johann also released his first EP (extended play), featuring 3 nu-metal/rap metal songs inspired by Linkin Park.

Furthermore, Johann also experiments by producing worship songs by either writing lyrics himself, or by taking scriptures from the Bible and turning them into songs in genres popular in this day and age. “I believe that the Bible can still be presented to current and future generations by media we have at hand”, says Johann. With his release “Philippians 4”, this rap song takes a segment from Philippians and introduces it in a modern genre while conveying the message of doing all this through Him who gives you strength. A similar positive song with the message of not giving up in life is ‘At the Edge’.

When working solo, Johann generates vocals via specialized software, however, for current/future projects, he initiated contact with local singers, aiming to collaborate and release pop songs together in the future.
