Festa Lwien

Following the resounding success of past editions, Festa Lwien is set to make its return to the Ta’ Qali Artisan Village on Friday, 8th August, from 18:30h to 23:00h – and, as always, entrance is completely free!

Inspired by the much-loved Lejla Maltija and the colourful traditions of village feasts, Festa Lwien is a vibrant celebration of Maltese culture, combining local crafts, traditional food, live entertainment, and fun activities for all the family in a magical summer evening setting.

This year’s headline act is none other than Red Electric, one of Malta’s top bands, who will take the stage at the heart of the Artisan Village for a live concert between 21:15h and 22:45h – delivering some of their biggest hits in what promises to be a show-stopping performance.

The festivities begin much earlier, though. Kicking off at 18:30h, the ever-energetic Tikka Banda will be roaming through the village with their signature upbeat brass marches and crowd interaction. Later in the evening, folk music lovers can enjoy a performance by the Tal-Fuklar Folk Group, who will be adding their own dose of Maltese musical heritage to the atmosphere.

Food lovers won’t be disappointed either. The Artisan Village will be packed with food and drink stalls offering pizzas, pasta, burgers and ciabattas, alongside coffee, nougat, sweets, and, of course, ice cream – perfect to beat the summer heat.

There’s also plenty to keep the younger ones entertained! The dedicated kids’ area will feature face painting, bouncy castles, trampolines, mini train rides, quad bikes, and so much more!

The Artisan Village itself will be beautifully dressed for the occasion, with traditional lights and festive decorations, transforming its streets into a lively, colourful hub. Visitors can also browse through a variety of artisan stalls, with local artisans showcasing and selling their handcrafted products.

Festa Lwien is organised by the Malta Crafts Foundation. For more details, visit www.maltacrafts.org, or follow the Foundation on Facebook and Instagram.

Mark your calendar for Friday, 8th August, and join us at the Ta’ Qali Artisan Village for an unforgettable evening that celebrates the very best of Maltese tradition, music, food, and community spirit.
