Rising local star Haley has released a new single and an accompanying lyric video.
Written by Gerard James Borg and composed and produced by Matthew James Borg, Roses & Thorns looks at how love may slowly fade. With a soft, stripped-back sound, it reflects on the distance that forms in a once-hopeful relationship.
Haley has been gradually making a name for herself with songs like Paradoss, Whistleblower and Tell Me That It’s Over. She reached the finals of Mużika Mużika and took the stage at the Malta Eurovision Song Contest.
Speaking about the track, Haley said: “It’s not loud, but it says what it needs to. It’s about looking back, realising how much things have changed and learning to sit with that.”
Producer Borg added: “We kept it honest. Haley brought the right tone from the start. Nothing forced, just feeling.”
