The EUNIC European Film Festival returns to Valletta for its fifth edition between September 23 and 28.
Organised by the Malta Cluster of EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture), this annual event highlights the power of film to spark dialogue and transcend borders, reinforcing the importance of shared values and diversity.
Hosted at Spazju Kreattiv, this year’s festival features 11 screenings over six days. Each film offers a different lens on contemporary Europe – its landscapes, its people, its challenges and its triumphs – reminding viewers of the ties that bind across borders.
The embassies of the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, France, Spain, as well as the Alliance Française, Arts Council Malta, the European Commission Representation, the Istituto Italiano di Cultura, and, for the first time, the Australian High Commission − will present films that resonate with Malta’s unique perspective.
A notable evolution is the inclusion of Australia, emphasising the festival’s increasingly global outlook.
Marking its fifth anniversary, the EUNIC Malta European Film Festival continues to grow as an important platform for cultural exchange, connecting Malta to Europe and the world through the language of film.
Tickets are free and can be downloaded/reserved from the Spazju Kreattiv website.
