Art: ‘Together in Time’ − a vivid exploration of human connection

One of Alexander Tadesse's works on display at the exhibition.

Alexander Tadesse, a dynamic voice in African art, is today unveiling his latest body of work Together in Time at Christine X Art Gallery in Sliema.

The evocative visual narrative celebrates the enduring beauty of human connection as the artist reflects on shared stories, subtle gestures and everyday rhythms, where past and present converge. The work calls viewers to pause and experience the warmth, complexity and continuity of communal bonds through a rich palette of colour, form and memory.

Another work going on display.

Together in Time is more than an exhibition. It is an invitation to remember, to reflect and to cherish the beauty of being together,” the artist says.

Born in 1983 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Tadesse is a graduate of the Alle School of Fine Arts and Design at the University of Addis Ababa. He later specialised in painting at the Entoto Polytechnic College of Fine Arts. His multidisciplinary practice includes painting, graphic design and cartoon animation, allowing him to traverse mediums with a unique and expressive voice.

Influenced by his life in Africa and his travels around the world, Tadesse draws deeply from the cultural, religious and linguistic diversity he encounters. His art reflects the harmony within this diversity, portraying the vivid interconnectivity of humanity.
