The festive season has officially begun, with the opening night of MADC’s Snow White at the Salesian Theatre yesterday kicking off a panto performance run that continues throughout Christmas and New Year until January 5.
Written by panto legend Alan Montanaro – who is also back in heels as Dame – and directed by Stephen Oliver, Snow White gives the classic fairytale a magical MADC panto twist.
The cast also includes Melissa Mercieca as Snow White, alongside Sarah Jane Zrinzo as Queen Belladonna, Noel Zarb as Mirror Man, Karl Bartolo and Bertha Farrugia as henchmen Grimble and Sprog, Carla Fenech as Fairy Powderpuff, Ali Kanay Demirci as the Prince, Joe Depasquale as King Bumblebottom and an extraordinary ensemble.
MADC’s highly experienced creative team works their magic behind the scenes, with set designer Romualdo Moretti, musical director Ryan Paul Abela and choreographer Martina Galea casting their spell to bring the fairytale world of Snow White to life. The panto picture is complete with stunning costumes designed by Alan Montanaro, assisted by Nicole Cuschieri.

Packed with standing ovation-worthy singing and dancing, larger-than-life princesses, villains and mischievous sidekicks, a hilarious script, dazzling costumes and breathtaking sets with a revolving stage, Snow White is a Christmas treat the whole family will love.
But one needs to book quickly as many performances are almost sold out!
