Missed Libera’s concert at the Mosta Rotunda last weekend? Pity, however you can still watch it on TV in the coming days.

The concert, organised by the Mosta Rotunda Foundation in collaboration with Visit Malta, was first aired yesterday, Christmas Eve, on TVM, but it is also scheduled to be broadcast today, Christmas Day, on TVM+ at 6.15pm, on December 28 on One at 8.15pm and on Net TV at 8.30pm, on December 30 on Xejk at 8.30pm and on January 2 on Net TV at 8.30pm.

The much-anticipated concert proved to be a memorable experience for all those present at the Rotunda, with many praising the choir and the event on social media.

The angelic, celestial voices of the British boys’ choir filled the church with peaceful and soothing music, with the audience repeatedly expressing their appreciation with prolonged applause after each performance.

The repertoire included Ding Dong Merrily on High, I Saw Three Ships Come Sailing In, and Caccini’s Ave Maria, among others.

In his address, Archbishop Charles Scicluna noted that the songs performed by Libera, together with the accompanying orchestral music, drew all those present closer to the Lord and to the true meaning of Christmas, that of hope and peace.

Mosta archpriest Sebastian Caruana said that the concert enabled the community to share in the joy of Christmas and helped bring people together.

The CEO of the Mosta Rotunda Foundation, Giovanni Chetcuti, expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the event, including the Malta Tourism Authority, collaborators, workers, and volunteers. He noted that this Christmas concert marked the fourth consecutive year that such an event has been organised by the Foundation, which aims to continue hosting cultural initiatives that attract numerous visitors to the Mosta Rotunda.

He also announced that these efforts are being recognised, as the Mosta Rotunda has recently been awarded the Quality Assured Seal Certificate by the Malta Tourism Authority.

The CEO of the Malta Tourism Authority, Carlo Micallef, who is from Mosta, said he was proud that his hometown, through the Mosta Rotunda Foundation, has achieved such high standards and continues to organise prestigious events such as the Libera concert.

A delightful surprise awaited the audience at the very end, when the Libera boys’ choir performed the popular Maltese carol Nini la tibkix iżjed, earning a standing ovation on both evenings.

A generous total of €11,000 was collected in aid of Id-Dar tal-Providenza.
