World-renowned luxury perfumes by top niche brand Creed are now available in Malta.

The English-French brand was launched recently during an intimate event at Scentoniq’s Exclusive store in St Julian’s. Present for the launch were VIP clients, influencers and members of the media, who were treated to an exclusive preview of the various Creed fragrances.

A Creed brand manager also flew in from Paris for the occasion, where she spoke about the brand’s history and its prestige.

The House of Creed boasts a rich heritage. Established in 1760 by James Henry Creed, the brand is known for handcrafting distinct, elegant and original scents for royal households, among other patrons. In fact, it all started with a pair of scented, bespoke gloves made for King George III.

To this day, after seven generations, the brand travels extensively to source, research, inspect and commission the finest ingredients.

The high-quality raw ingredients are then weighed, mixed and macerated, mostly by hand, in a small artisanal factory near Fontainebleau, France.

Guests at the launch were indeed exhilarated by the new olfactory experience as they tested the fragrances and learnt about what goes into the creation of such prestigious bottles.

‘Cult status’

Some of the bestselling perfumes in the Creed portfolio have gained cult status, such as Aventus, a bold fruity-citrus perfume for men with bergamot, pineapple and musk.

Absolu Aventus, a master reinterpretation of Aventus, heightens the olfactive experience with an unexpected twist of grapefruit.

Other fragrances for men include Green Irish Tweed, a refined perfume that weaves together fresh and aromatic notes, with layers of fresh lavender at its heart to the crisp oakmoss at its base, and the fresh Millesime Imperial, with vibrant citruses and a salty marine accord over a warm base of sensual cedarwood, sandalwood and musk.

Women are also spoilt for choice with elegant, rich perfumes to suit all tastes.

A female interpretation of Aventus – Aventus for Her − offers a woody fresh, crisp, fruity and floral fragrance, while Love in White, another fresh and floral perfume, is reminiscent of a delicate spring breeze.

There’s the sensual Carmina with its floral amber, woody and musk notes, and Queen of Silk, which blends exotic fruit, white flowers and soft woods to create a fragrance that recalls the ethereal softness of silk.

Creed also has a number of unisex perfumes, such as Oud Zarian, made with precious 80-year-old oud, harvested from the heart of Aquilaria trees from the Sylhet forests in Bangladesh, and Silver Mountain Water, a clean and contemporary classic inspired by the Swiss Alps, with top notes of bergamot and blackcurrant, and sandalwood and musk base notes.
