Annual scale model exhibition

A highlight of the exhibition is the figure section.

The Malta Society of Model Makers is hosting its annual exhibition at the Aviation Museum, Ta’ Qali, until March 22, featuring a wide range of scale models, including warplanes, figures, cars, tanks, ships, dioramas and engineering-related subjects.

A notable highlight of the exhibition is the figure section, which features hand-painted soldiers representing various historical regiments and armies. These figures are presented as standalone pieces, in vignettes, or as part of dioramas, each carefully painted by society members with attention to historically accurate military uniforms.

Visitors will also have the chance to see the model makers at work and works in progress, giving them a better understanding of the materials and different mediums used in the hobby.

Founded in 2003, the Malta Society of Model Makers has organised its annual exhibition every year since. Over time, the society has established a strong presence within the local community through regular lectures, meetings and exhibitions. Its main mission continues to be supporting and mentoring young modellers, helping them improve their skills and achieve higher standards in the craft.

The exhibition is open on weekdays from 9am to 5pm, and on weekends and public holidays from 9am to 7pm. On the final day, Sunday, March 22, the exhibition will close at 5pm.
