An exhibition by female artists from Italy and Malta will open at Galleria Quam in Scicli, Sicily, on Saturday, April 28.
Acqua filo mano luce, curated by Christine Xuereb, brings together four artists of diverse backgrounds and techniques: Beatrice Pediconi, Federica Tomasello, Manuela Toselli and Mireille Vella.
The project, conceived by Antoinio Sarnari of Galleria Quam, is grounded in the idea of diversity as a source of strength, shaped by the sensitive and distinctive artistic voices of the participants.

As curator Xuereb says, the exhibition “invites us to reconsider which voices, materials and methods have been historically marginalised”.
She further explains that “fragility is not seen as weakness; rather, it is understood as openness, a condition that allows for change, movement and renewal”.
The exhibition presents Pediconi’s refined paper works, featuring delicate floral forms created through a unique and authentic technique; Tomasello’s evocations of marine landscapes, infused with the soft Mediterranean glow of pastel dust; Toselli’s richly textured compositions, characterised by personal hues and painterly threads; and Vella’s work, which deconstructs and reimagines natural imagery.

Acqua filo mano luce will open on Saturday at 6.30pm at Galleria Quam, 79, Via Francesco Mormino Penna, Scicli, Sicily. Curator Xuereb and the participating artists will be present. Admission is free, and guided tours of the exhibition will be available in both Italian and English. The exhibition runs until April 28.
