On January 31 – it’s a Wednesday, duh! – What’s Cooking, Malta? will be hosting an ‘eat film’ event where fans of the iconic and highly-quotable 2004 film, Mean Girls, can experience a ‘fetch’ six-course dinner full of themed dishes.

Kicking off at 6.30pm at The Sheer Bastion within Cugó Gran Macina, diners will be welcomed with a selection of ‘Whore D’oeuvres’, followed by a gourmet six-course menu inspired by popular scenes from the film.

The menu, which has been carefully titled by food writer Elsa Andrea Messi, includes dishes like ‘I Want My Pink Shirt Back’, ‘Stab Caesar’, and ‘My Breasts Can Always Tell When It’s Raining’. Moreover, just as in previous What’s Cooking, Malta? events, attendees can expect a number of surprises throughout the night.

The food on the night will be in the hands of two chefs: Justin Schieda, the former head chef at Adam’s Fish Shop and Hammett’s Gastro Bar, and now a private chef who runs his own catering company, Hedonist Catering; and Chrys Brace, a self-taught private chef who runs Chrysie’s Kitchen, which mostly caters for corporate and private dining clients. Desserts, meanwhile, will be handled by Marsha of Lovebakes & Cakes, while mixologist Eddie Bonello will be in charge of cocktails.

Tickets for the event are priced at €70 per person, and include a welcome drink and canapé reception, a six-course meal, wine, free-flowing water, and a feast for the eyes. For more information or to book, please contact Elsa Andrea Messi by emailing her on editor@whatscookingmalta.com or via her Facebook page. Dietary requirements are also catered for given you inform the organiser when you make your booking.

Moreover, don’t forget that on Wednesdays we wear pink and, since this event falls on a Wednesday, wearing something pink is encouraged!

Among the entities sponsoring this event there are Farmer’s Deli, La Boucherie, Adam’s Fish Shop, Farsons Direct, Molecular Fusion, Koza Dumplings, Briffa Wines Selections, ECB Catering Equipment Specialists, Sam Abela (aka Sourdough Sam), Mediterranean Culinary Academy, Benna, and Jon David.
