Mark Weingard, president of the Academy of Givers and founder of the Iniala Group, announced how his business will amplify its support to the local community through a new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative called 1+1. This announcement was made at the Academy of Givers’ third annual ‘For Impact Event and Fair’ where Mark called on fellow businesses to partner to make an even bigger and lasting positive impact.
This new initiative will see Iniala Harbour House and its Michelin-starred restaurant ION Harbour add a discretionary €1 donation to each bill which Iniala will match. These contributions will be channelled into various inspiring initiatives and NGOs creating positive change within the local community. Guests will be briefed by the staff on the initiative and the projects supported, and, if the guests wish to contribute further, Iniala will match each additional donation up to €100.
Iniala has guaranteed €50,000 will be donated in the first 12 months of this initiative. With more Iniala hotels in the pipeline, the company hopes to donate €250,000 per annum in the future. As an initial gesture of commitment, Iniala Group has pledged to donate €15,000 annually for three years to the Victory Kitchen Foundation, an inspiring NGO that provides meals for families in need.
Weingard will also approach other hospitality businesses in Valletta with the aim of getting more businesses to join the 1+1 initiative and create a communal effort to support a myriad of local charities and community-driven initiatives primarily in Valletta and Floriana.
Since its inception, Iniala has been dedicated to philanthropy and giving back to the community through various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities and its support to the Inspirasia Foundation.
