Three new apartments for youths transitioning from care into independent living have benefitted from a range of essential home appliances, donated to Fondazzjoni Sebħ by Eden Leisure Group to help furnish the accommodation.

The donation, valued at approximately €8,000, includes anything from refrigerators, fans and several Acs to blenders, toasters and kettles, ovens and hobs, ensuring these apartments are equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable living environment.

Fondazzjoni Sebħ, established as an NGO in 2018, began its mission in 1956 to support children in residential homes. The organisation has since expanded to include services for survivors of domestic violence and community prevention programmes.

“This substantial support towards our aftercare apartments is going to go a long way in ensuring that youth and families leaving care are equipped with the right amenities during their journey towards independent living,” said Kerry Hermitage, the foundation’s senior manager.

It thanked Eden Leisure Group for seeing to their needs and “taking us one step closer to making our dream a reality”.

Kate de Cesare, group CSO, said that Eden Leisure Group was dedicated to community support. Through its collaboration with the foundation, volunteering and donations, it aimed to make a significant impact on it.
