3 secrets to making perfume last longer

Are you ready to make your fragrances linger longer and stronger? These three pro tips will make sure you smell great for hours!

When it comes to perfume, many of us spend big money on fragrances that smell great but whose scent seems to dissipate very quickly. Thankfully, there are a few things you can do to make them last longer—and it’s all much easier than you’d think.

#1. Proper Storage: Light, heat, and humidity are three of the worst things you can expose your perfume to. That’s why perfume should never be stored in the bathroom, in the car, or in direct sunlight. Instead, keep it in its original box and place it somewhere cool and dry.

#2. Avoid Rubbing: We’ve all sprayed perfume on our wrists and proceeded to rub them, but this actually ruins the whole experience as it makes the top notes disappear far quicker. To make it last longer, simply spray the perfume onto your skin and let it be.

#3. Try Vaseline: Applying Vaseline to the points where you’re planning on spraying perfume creates a thin layer that helps hold the perfume for longer. This age-old trick really works and it takes just a few extra seconds.

Of course, a fragrance’s potency will always fade after a few hours, which is why taking it with you, especially when you’re going somewhere where you’re hoping to make a great impression, is also a good idea. And, don’t forget, while your nose may have got used to the perfume, it doesn’t mean that others can’t smell it!
