These 3 herbal teas actually make a difference

From helping us to consume less caffeine to reducing bloating, picking the right herbal tea can make a world of difference! Here are three of our favourites.

The cult of the herbal tea drinkers is nothing new, but with so many to choose from, it can sometimes be difficult to know which one makes the most sense for your needs. We say this because herbal teas aren’t just something you consume for their flavour—though they can taste delicious—but also because their ingredients’ properties can actually improve certain body functions and stave off unwanted ailments.

Here are three of our favourites and why we love them:

Chamomile Tea: While not exactly a best-kept secret, having a cup of chamomile tea before bed can help you wind down both physically and mentally. In fact, people who suffer from insomnia often do this to help them relax. Moreover, chamomile tea is known to aid digestion, reduce bloating, and soothe the stomach, especially if you’ve had a large dinner.

Peppermint Tea: Peppermint’s strong taste is a clear sign of just how powerful this tea can be once ingested. Indeed, on top of helping with bloating, peppermint tea can help ease nausea, relieve muscle pain, reduce stress, and even help those who suffer from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Rooibos Tea: Also known as red bush tea, this tea is normally served with milk, making it very close to the normal black tea so many of us drink on a daily basis. Nevertheless, rooibos contains no caffeine, which means it can reduce symptoms of excessive caffeine consumption like headaches, difficulty sleeping, and feeling jittery.

Of course, what’s important to remember is that these teas are just there to aid you lead a more balanced and healthy lifestyle—but they cannot do the job all by themselves. Moreover, it’s always advisable to speak to a doctor whenever you are feeling unwell or are experiencing any recurring symptoms, including bloating, anxiety, or trouble sleeping.
