This podcast is all about Sherlock Holmes’s short stories

Narrated by Hugh Bonneville, Sherlock Holmes Short Stories is an audio-book podcast in which Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s world-famous detective comes to life!

If you love a good detective story, then you simply can’t do better than one of the many Sherlock Holmes short stories published by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle between 1887 and 1927. The detective’s logical reasoning, as well as his powers of observation and deduction, have become legendary for a reason, after all! That’s why we were over the moon when Noiser, a podcast production company based in Bristol, announced its latest offering.

Narrated by Hugh Bonneville, who many will know for playing the part of Lord Grantham in Downton Abbey, Sherlock Holmes Short Stories is essentially an audio-book kind of podcast, with each week bringing with it a new (or part of a new) story.

So far, there are two full short stories you can listen to on Spotify, a three-part narration of classic, locked-room mystery, ‘The Adventure of the Speckled Band’, in which parental greed and inheritance are the focal points, and a two-part narration of ‘The Adventure of the Dancing Men’, which is all about solving a riddle.

At the time of writing, the podcast had also released the first part of ‘The Red-Headed League’, where a red-headed London pawnbroker ends up getting hired for a job to copy out the entire Encyclopaedia Britannica.

Honestly, it’s truly worth a listen, and it makes for great company whether you’re cooking or trying to doze off!
