Cacharel set to release first perfume in seven years

Ella Ella is the French fashion and beauty house’s first perfume since 2018 and promises to channel modern femininity.

Founded in 1958, Cacharel has become renowned around the world for its ready-to-wear clothing, high-end accessories, and its perfumes, with Noa being their most renowned.

Even so, their last contribution to the world of perfumery was Yes I Am, which was released in 2018 and had top notes of Raspberry, Bergamot, and Mandarin Orange, and middle notes of Amber, Jasmine, Gardenia, and Rose.

Now, the company is finally back with a new scent that it says encapsulates young girls’ blooming femininity.

Speaking exclusively to WWD, Sandrine Groslier, the global president of luxe fragrance brands at L’Oréal, which releases Cacharel perfumes, said: “There are new changes for this generation over the past years. We really wanted to embody this new vision of freedom, of being [true to] yourself in the world today.”

Although it aims to be fresh and new, Ella Ella is also a harking back to Cacharel’s origins. Firstly, like all other perfumes in the company’s arsenal, this one is also linked to nature, with the Camargue region in France, where Cacharel first began, being a big part of the branding for this perfume. Secondly, its repeating name reminds aficionados of past releases by the brand, like Anaïs Anaïs from 1978 and Amor Amor from 2003.

Meanwhile, the fragrance itself, which has been created by perfumer Dominique Ropion, is said to have notes of Vanilla, Orange Blossom, and Jasmine. It also comes presented in a refillable, peachy-pink glass bottle whose design aims to symbolise transformation and self-discovery.

Set to be released in Europe and the US within the first six months of 2025, the perfume will range in price from €59 for a 30ml bottle to €118 for a 100ml bottle.
