Fans of the famous 1990s British sitcom, Mr Bean, are certain the goofy character is making a comeback after images of Rowan Atkinson acting very much like the title character made it to news sites and social media channels across the world.
Atkinson, who is now 70, was spotted outside the Piccadilly Circus tube station in London wearing a blue coat and a grey bobble hat while carrying a red rucksack, a map, a baby. In the video, one can also see professional lights had been set up, hinting at the fact that this was being filmed.
While nothing has been confirmed by Atkinson or any other involved party, the return of Mr Bean should hardly be surprising. In many ways, the ‘child in a man’s body’, as Atkinson, who co-created the series with Richard Curtis, called him, is a character that transcends cultures and ages.
In fact, while the series only ran for 15 episodes, which came out sporadically between January 1990 and December 1995, the show has gone on to be a huge success, being sold to over 245 territories across the world, as well as inspiring two feature-length films, an animated spin-off, and plenty of memorabilia.
So, yes, 2025 looks like it’s going to be a big year for fans of the lovable (and slightly infuriating) Mr Bean—and we’re here for it!
