Ahead of the International Lighting Exhibition Euroluce, taking place in Milan from April 8-13 to coincide with Milano Design Week (from April 7), the iconic brand of glass furniture, Tonelli Design, pays tribute to lighting and its aesthetic value with Cathedral. This is a charming new design for a modern chandelier by the eclectic Italian architect and designer duo Studio 14. As expected with this brand from the Marche, the glass is instrumental in the creation of unexpected textural synergies, transforming light into ‘solid and tangible poetry’.
“With its majestic and refined structure” say Diego Bassetti and Andrea Panzieri of Studio 14, “Cathedral evokes the grandeur of a cathedral, where each detail is thought to reflect the light in a game of transparencies and shadows that enchant.”
Each element is made of metal and glass leaves that, placed geometrically, create a dynamic visual effect, almost sculptural.
The leaves, accurately refined to grant a solid but also light structure, and the glass that propagates the light softly, create a warm and cozy ambiance.
The contrast between the metal’s solidity and the glass’ transparency confer this chandelier a sophisticated character, ideal for modern and classy ambiances. The light, going through the glass and the metal surfaces, creates games of reflection that enrich the atmosphere, a true focal point of design.
