Maltese actor Kyle Borg completes prestigious acting degree

Maltese actor Kyle Borg has recently completed his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Acting at ArtsEd in London, one of the UK’s most respected drama schools

This is the culmination of a rigorous three-year programme that tested his skill, resilience, and dedication to the craft of acting.

During his time at ArtsEd, Borg tackled a variety of challenging roles that showcased his range and emotional depth. Among the standout performances were Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, Telegin in Uncle Vanya, and Khlopov in The Government Inspector. Each role allowed him to explore different dimensions of character and storytelling, strengthening his technique and deepening his artistic instincts.

Since receiving offers from four prestigious drama schools abroad in 2022, Borg’s journey since then has been marked by persistence and self-discovery. Studying in post-Brexit London as a Maltese national brought its own set of obstacles — from visa restrictions to cultural differences. But perhaps the most defining challenge was internal: staying true to his identity in an environment that often encourages assimilation.

“There’s an unspoken pressure to adopt a British way of being, both on and off stage,” Borg reflects. “But I made a deliberate decision early on not to change who I am just to fit in. I wanted to bring my own truth into the work.”

Staying true to that decision wasn’t always straightforward, and at times it set him apart. But rather than discourage him, it only strengthened his belief that staying connected to his roots was essential to his growth as an artist.

His dedication did not go unnoticed. Three months before completing his degree, Borg was signed by Louisa Jayne Palmer Management, a London-based agency that represents emerging and established talent across the UK. The signing marks a promising start to his professional career and reflects a growing recognition of his potential.

Looking ahead, Borg is excited to explore a variety of mediums and genres. “I want to tell stories that matter — whether on stage or screen or radio,” he says. “What drives me is truth and connection, and I’ll follow that wherever it leads.”

As he steps into the next chapter of his career, Kyle Borg remains a proud ambassador of Maltese talent. With formal training, agency representation, and a clear artistic voice, he is poised to make his mark in the competitive world of performance.

Throughout this course, Kyle was supported by the Malta Arts Scholarship sponsored by the Government of Malta.
