Esplora, Xjenza Malta‘s flagship interactive science centre in Kalkara, has officially launched its 2025 Summer Programme.

Running from July 1 to September 28, the programme offers various educational and entertaining activities for children, aged 2 to 14, and their families, with a focus on science, exploration and curiosity.

These include interactive science shows, hands-on workshops, Planetarium experiences and more than 200 exhibits spread out in a climate-controlled, accessible environment.

This year, the programme introduces a dynamic thematic structure that changes every few weeks, with various themes ranging from space, nature, food science, and sports to traditional Maltese festivities.

Present for the launch was the parliamentary secretary for youth, research and innovation, Keith Azzopardi Tanti, who praised Esplora’s commitment to promoting science among young people and families.

“Esplora plays an important role in actively delivering science to our younger generations by offering programmes that are both accessible and enjoyable. The summer programme is a brilliant example of how informal learning environments can spark curiosity, creativity and a love for science,” he said, while thanking the Esplora team for their dedication in continuing to nurture and inspire future thinkers and innovators in an inclusive way.

Esplora’s chief, Mary Anne Cauchi, added that the summer programme is designed to “inspire wonder and exploration”.

“At Esplora, we are committed to continuing to create meaningful science learning opportunities that are innovative, inclusive and fun for everyone who walks through our doors,” she said.
