The Malta Photographic Society (MPS) is holding its 60th Annual National Exhibition of Photography, at the Malta Society of Arts in Valletta from Thursday, November 27 until December 19.
Celebrated as the longest-running and largest national photographic exhibition in Malta, this landmark event has become a cornerstone of the local cultural calendar.
Over six decades, the exhibition has evolved into the flagship gathering for professional and enthusiast photographers, while increasingly drawing international entrants and numerous visiting audiences. .
Since its inception, the exhibition has also offered a vital platform for photographers to present their work, exchange ideas and connect with the public. Each successive edition has grown in visibility, ambition and artistic diversity, with submissions and public interest continuing to increase year after year.

For the 60th edition, the MPS has received a total of 836 images for consideration. From these, 89 selected prints by 39 photographers will be exhibited as mounted and framed works, while 151 digital images by 50 photographers will be presented in a curated on-screen showcase.
Highlighting the importance of this anniversary, Vince Piscopo, honorary secretary of the Malta Photographic Society, said: “Reaching the 60th edition is both an honour and a testament to the dedication of our members, volunteers and the wider photographic community. This year’s exhibition aligns perfectly with the vision for the arts to be at the heart of Malta’s future, ensuring that everyone has access to artistic and cultural activity, and presenting a diverse range of photographic works that showcase artistic excellence while supporting different modes of expression.
