Short play festival to take place next year

Call for scripts now open.

Spazju Kreattiv announced Skeċċ, a Short Play Festival dedicated to showcasing innovative voices and diverse practices in theatre. The Festival is scheduled to take place on June 6 and 7, 2025, with setups commencing on June 2. A number of productions will be staged across various venues at Spazju Kreattiv, including theatre, studios and outdoor areas.

The festival is open to playwrights with all levels of experience; submissions must be original works that have yet to be produced. Each submission must have a runtime of 10 to 20 minutes and scripts should be at most 10-15 pages in standard play format. Scripts may be submitted in either Maltese or English. 

There is no specific theme; however, works exploring contemporary issues, cultural diversity, and innovative storytelling are encouraged.
