3 health supplements that should be on everyone’s list

Regularly taking your multivitamins, fish oil capsules, and probiotics could help you achieve optimal health.

We all know that a balanced diet, healthy habits, drinking plenty of water, and sleeping eight hours a night are part of the formula for staying healthy and happy. Nevertheless, a little boost from the right supplements could actually make a huge difference – and these three are some of the best you can take.

Fish Oil Capsules: While the name may not make these particularly inviting, fish oil capsules are full of omega-3 fatty acids, which are important for everything from your heart to your lungs, and your bones to your muscles. You can get these fatty acids from certain foods, like salmon and sardines, but the concentration in fish oil capsules ensures you get enough each and every day. As I’m sure many of you will remember from your childhood, fish oil can also be taken as an oil, but the trauma with that is still too fresh for us to even consider it.

Multivitamins: Many of us fail to consume the recommended amount of daily fruit and vegetables, while other factors, like working indoors, may mean we don’t get our required daily dose of vitamin D. As such, a good multivitamin can ensure we top up anything that’s missing, be it folic acid (for healthy red blood cells), Vitamin E (good for the nerves), Vitamin C (helps your body absorb iron), and many more.

Probiotics: Probiotics are full of good live bacteria that help you maintain gut health, which can, in turn, boost immunity, make your heart healthier, and improve digestive health. In some studies, probiotics have even improved the test subjects’ skin. You can get probiotics from foods like natural yoghurt, sauerkraut, pickles, and buttermilk, but a daily supplement ensures your gut always gets all the helpful bacteria it needs.

Of course, there are many other types of useful supplements out there, so always check with a licensed professional to see which ones would work best for you.
