As the days get longer and the air gets warmer, it’s only natural to want something uplifting to watch to set the right tone. These three films will do just that, and leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside!

Pride and Prejudice: Director Joe Wright’s 2005 adaptation of Jane Austen’s enduring love story, featuring Keira Knightley as the strong-willed Elizabeth Bennett and Matthew Macfadyen as the broody Mr Darcy, is a film for the ages. With its dramatic soundtrack and stunning cinematography, it has become one of the best-loved Austen adaptations to date.

The Secret Garden: Although it’s been 30 years since the film’s release, director Agnieszka Holland’s retelling of this much-loved story is still captivating. The beautiful secret garden acts as a backdrop for a tale that starts in India and continues in the rural landscape of the Yorkshire Moors, where a young girl discovers what its like to finally belong.

Big Fish: Another early noughties film, this Tim Burton-directed movie stars Ewan McGregor as Edward Bloom, a man whose stories about his life sound more fictitious than real. The film is shot in a very Burtonesque way, but while somewhat dark in parts, there are also plenty of beautiful and uplifting scenes, including one in a meadow that is sure to set the mood for spring.

Are there any other films you watch that help you get ready for spring? Let us know in the comments!
