Maltese designer–hairdresser Vanusia (Vanusia Hair Design) presented her work at Serbia Fashion Week (SFW) in Novi Sad, held early last month. She represented Malta as part of the long-standing collaboration between SFW and Malta Fashion Week (MFW).
Vanusia made her designer debut at MFW 2025 in summer with a striking runway concept that transformed hair extensions into wearable art− a signature idea she continued to evolve for her international appearance in Novi Sad.
“Vanusia’s work embodies the creative experimentation that Malta Fashion Week champions. Our collaboration with Serbia Fashion Week continues to open doors for Maltese talent to show on respected international stages,” Adrian Mizzi, executive producer at the Malta Fashion Week and Awards, said.

Svetlana Horvat, president of Serbia Fashion Week, added: “We were delighted to welcome Vanusia from Malta Fashion Week. Her innovative use of hair as couture resonated with our audience and underscores the value of cultural exchange between our fashion weeks.”
Vanusia is also a two-time consecutive winner of the Fashion Hairstylist Award at the Malta Fashion Awards.
The Serbia–Malta fashion exchange has brought Maltese creatives to Novi Sad for years − including Rosemarie Abela (2017) and Marco Parascandalo (2023) − while Serbian designers have featured in Malta, underscoring a strong and enduring platform for cross-border creativity and collaboration.
Vanusia was assisted by Mizzi, who oversaw all technical aspects of the show, and Elaine Galea, who coordinated backstage operations including model casting, hair and make-up in collaboration with the Serbian backstage team.
