Following his debut solo exhibition in 2019 at Gallery 23 and a series of successful collaborations in the years since, Henry Falzon returns with a compelling new body of work.

Titled Henry & the Sea, this latest collection of seascapes is a tribute to his roots, capturing the essence of coastal life through his distinctive artistic lens.

From the outset, Falzon envisioned a winter seascape exhibition. The Maltese coastline, so often associated with the vibrancy of summer, takes on a dramatically different character in the colder months.

These shifting moods are captured through Falzon’s now signature elevated, often aerial perspectives, offering a fresh and contemplative lens on familiar surroundings.

The artist presents the sea as both powerful and untamed. Winter storms, shifting tide and the ever-changing shoreline form a central theme, highlighting nature’s dominance over the fragile structures at the water’s edge.

Alongside the seascapes, the exhibition includes a handful of unexpected pieces that hint at new artistic directions.

Henry & and the Sea opens to the public on Sunday and runs until May 1. It is open on Wednesdays from 6 to 8pm and on Sundays from 10.30am to 1pm.
