Rock classics in Valletta

Rockwired features some of Malta’s top talent.

Right off the bat of the exceptional success of Chicago, Arthaus is back with a second major production this year, although the production house will not be steering towards another musical. It returns instead with a magnified version of Rockwired.

A celebration of rock music is coming to the Mediterranean Conference Centre this November with a six-piece band, 34-piece orchestra and a 60-person choir. Hailing rock classics from the past and present day, Rockwired will bring orchestral versions of hits by Bon Jovi, Coldplay, Aerosmith, Scorpions, Evanescence, Linkin Park, Muse, Metallica, The Beatles, Green Day, Queen, and more.

Arthaus in collaboration with The Palace String Orchestra and supported by the Rock’n Malta Fund will be performing this all live music fest under the artistic direction of Stefania Grech Vella and the musical direction of Ryan Paul Abela who is also responsible for the orchestral arrangements.

Choir arrangements have been set by Paul Abela, while the choir is being led by Claire McCartin. Hosted by award-winning actor Stephen Oliver, the concert will also feature some of Malta’s top rock talent such as Chris Grech, Klinsmann, Neville Refalo, Andre Portelli, Dion Farrell, Dorothy Borg Bonnici, Rachel Grech and Stephanie Chetcuti, Natassja Chapman, and Jodi Zerafa Heckenlaible amongst many other incredibly talented singers. The production will also have a few surprises in store for its audience.

Rockwired plays at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Malta on November 4 and 5 November, with all performances at 7.30pm. Tickets are available at prices between €20 and €35 through tickets.arthaus.mt.
