Netflix has just released the first images of Scoop, an upcoming film that tells the story behind BBC Newsnight’s 2019 interview with Prince Andrew, during which he discussed his friendship with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The five images give a teaser of the cinematic approach director Philip Martin, who also worked on several episodes of The Crown, has taken. In four of them, we see Rufus Sewell as Prince Andrew and Gillian Anderson in the role of interviewer Emily Maitlis at Buckingham Palace. In the fifth one, we see Billie Piper, who will be portraying the former corporation producer Sam McAlister, inside a news studio.

According to Martin, Scoop, which lands on Netflix on April 5, will take audiences “inside the breathtaking sequence of events that led to the interview with Prince Andrew”.
The interview, as many readers will recall, was held following international backlash over an imagine of the Prince with Virginia Roberts Giuffre, Jeffrey Epstein’s accuser, at convicted sex offender and Epstein’s friend, Ghislaine Maxwell’s home.
