Horror fans will certainly be delighted by the latest news coming from Warner Bros, which has announced that the fourth and final instalment in the main arc of The Conjuring universe will be released worldwide on Friday, September 5, 2025.

Although the plotline for the fourth film, titled The Conjuring: Last Rites, is being very heavily guarded, we do know that both Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will be reprising their roles as demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren, respectively. According to IMDB, Taissa Farmiga, who plays the part of Sister Irene in The Nun series will also be in the film.

The Conjuring is the world’s highest-grossing horror franchise, having raked in a combined $2.1 billion over the past 11 years. The first instalment in the series was inspired by the real-life story of The Amityville Horror, which took place in 1971. Since then, the series has spawned eight films: three as part of the The Conjuring arc, three as part of the Annabelle arc, and two as part of The Nun arc.

While The Conjuring 4 will be the last in this particular series, the universe it forms a part of is set to keep going. Rumours about a potential third The Nun movie and a fourth Annabelle movie abound. Meanwhile, a TV series based on Ed and Lorraine Warren’s case files has been confirmed, though very little else is known.
