A solo exhibition by Catherine Cavallo opens at Gallery 23 in Balzan today.
Through this new body of work, titled Eve Refracted: The Eternal Cycle of Creation and Destruction, Cavallo invites viewers into a world where the boundaries between the human form and the natural landscape gently dissolve, bringing together figurative compositions and lush garden scenes.
“In my work, the garden becomes more than a place, it is a living metaphor. Its shifting seasons echo our own transformations, where death and decay give way to renewal and rebirth,” the artist says.

“Through nature’s rhythm, I explore the spiritual passage from ending to eternal life, where every loss becomes the seed of new creation.”
She notes that nothing exists in isolation and often beauty and chaos, good and evil intertwine, revealing the delicate balance that shapes both nature and the human spirit.
The exhibition runs at Gallery 23, located at 23, Idmejda Street, Balzan, until November 28. It is open on Wednesdays from 6 to 8pm and on Sundays from 10.30am to 1pm. One may also visit by appointment by calling on 9942 8272 or e-mailing info@gallery23malta.com.
