Daniel Azzopardi, director strategy at Arts Council Malta (ACM), has been elected to serve on the board of the European Network of Cultural Centres (ENCC) during the organisation’s General Assembly held in Lisbon.

This appointment coincides with ACM’s membership within the network, which brings together over 200 sociocultural organisations from across Europe.

The development reflects ACM’s continued commitment, as detailed in the Strategy 2030, to strengthen international cultural cooperation, policy engagement, and strategic exchange with cultural peers and institutions across Europe and beyond.

In a statement, ACM said that through this involvement, it aims to further position Malta within wider international cultural conversations while facilitating increased opportunities for local creatives, cultural organisations and communities to engage in knowledge-sharing, collaborative initiatives, mobility opportunities, and the exchange of good practices within an international context.

It added that Azzopardi’s appointment also reinforces ACM’s vision of culture as a driver for community development, innovation, participation and sustainable international collaboration, while continuing to strengthen Malta’s cultural presence and strategic partnerships abroad.
