The De Valette Chamber Orchestra is presenting the final concert of its inaugural 2025-2026 season at the Manoel Theatre, Valletta, on Friday.

The evening will bring together two world-renowned virtuosos − violinist Carmine Lauri, principal emeritus of the London Symphony Orchestra, and Hansjörg Schellenberger, former principal oboist of the Berlin Philharmonic.

The programme opens with Mozart’s youthful Symphony No.1 in E-flat Major, followed by Schellenberger’s performance of the elegant Oboe Concerto in C Major.

The evening continues with Bach’s Concerto for Violin and Oboe in C Minor, bringing Schellenberger and Lauri together in a musical dialogue.

The orchestra will also perform Mozart’s Symphony No. 29 in A Major, a graceful work that captures the brilliance and spirit of the classical era.

The evening concludes with Lauri taking the spotlight in Fritz Kreisler’s Violin Concerto in C Major ‘In the Style of Vivaldi’, an homage to the baroque era.

The concert starts at 8pm. Tickets are available from teatrumanoel.mt.
